 Julianne Moore is an American-British actress who has an estimated net worth of $55 million. She gained a lot of attention in the early '90s and is renowned for her portrayals of difficult women. The New York Times placed her at the top of its list of the 25 Greatest actors. Her birthplace was in Fort Bragg (North Carolina) on December 3, 1960. She was raised in a military household and was the third oldest of three siblings , and the mother of Peter Moore Smith, a paratrooper with the U.S. Army, and mother Anne Moore, an eminent Scottish psychologist and social worker from Greenock, Scotland, who came into the U.S. in 1951. Moore was frequently moved by her father because of his work. She was a resident of Alabama, Texas Texas, Georgia and Nebraska. Moore went to nine schools and claims that the constant moving caused her to feel unsecure and led to her struggling to make friends. Moore moved with her family from Virginia to Frankfurt West Germany when she was just 16 years old. Moore had always hoped to become a doctor but she never considered acting or going into theater. She was introduced to the theater through her love of reading and was a part of many plays in her high school, including "Tartuffe and Medea." Following that performance, Moore was encouraged by her English teacher to pursue an acting career.
